THE KINGDOM OF GOD – The Only Sure Remedy for the World

The Kingdom of God on earth is the dominant theme of the teaching of Jesus Christ and His chosen Apostles and Disciples. In the Lord’s Prayer Jesus Christ told us to pray “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven” (Matthew 6:10, Revised English Bible).

The Kingdom of God and Its Promised Blessings

With all our hearts we believe in the Kingdom of God spoken of so frequently in the Bible, and we are convinced it will bring to the human race not only deliverance from all trouble and distress, but also benefits and blessings even beyond our imagination.

The Structure of God’s Kingdom

The structure of the Kingdom of Almighty God is revealed to us in his Word.

JESUS CHRIST is the King and High Priest with all power in heaven and earth (Matthew 28:18; Philippians 2:10; Revelation 19:16; Psalm 2:6-9; Acts 13:33; Hebrews 5:5, 6). He will be assisted by:

(1) His JOINT HEIRS, who are faithful believers during the era of the Gospel. These believers who remain faithful unto death are promised a resurrection from death to become spirit beings in heavenly places. They are to become kings and priests (Romans 8:17; 1 Corinthians 15:49; 1 Peter 1:3, 4; 2:9; 2 Timothy 2:12; Ephesians 2:6; Revelation 1:6).

(2) The ANCIENT WORTHIES, who have lived in past ages as faithful believers in God’s promises. These faithful ones will be resurrected to be human beings once again, but with power and authority and no longer subject to death. They will be “princes in all the earth” (Psalm 45:16).

The SUBJECTS of God’s Kingdom will be the many millions who are living and who have lived on earth. All who have died will be raised to life again to learn of Jesus Christ, and will have the opportunity to gain everlasting life as human beings on an earth that will be a safe, secure and beautiful paradise. (John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15)

The Human Race Cannot Solve Earth’s Problems

The reason for human beings being unable to solve earth’s problems is sin. Only God can remove sin and solve earth’s problems, and He has promised to do so.

How and When Will God’s Kingdom Come?

God has not revealed the manner and timing of the establishment of His Kingdom. But the Bible tells us of certain signs to look for, and Jesus Christ has told us to watch and pray.

Concluding Comments

All are invited to read the Word of God regularly and examine our fuller comments. As the Apostle Paul exhorts us, we should “test everything; hold fast what is good”, (1 Thessalonians 5:21, Revised Standard Version.)
